Back to 1963!

Emily Post, still the most renowned name when talking etiquette, published her wedding guide in 1963, giving Brides, Grooms and families the very best of her advice.

One of our favourite pieces of advice was:

"The loveliest rule in planning
your wedding is still:
'Whatever you do, do it exquisitely!'"

This principle is not about how much money you spend, it's about how much thought you put into even the smallest of details on your perfect day.

And even more, it applies to the vendors (planner, photographer, florist etc.) that you choose.  Make sure everyone is committed to helping make your day exquisite.

When everyone is on the same page, it's a guarantee that your day will be your  "Perfect Moment!"

Fantastic and Funky Forks!!

It's amazing how many jobs a simple fork can do.

Add some vintage flair to your tables with these place card holders.

coolideas by Enzie Shahmirir

Wonderful vintage forks can be found at your local thrift stores, garage sales, maybe even in Gramma's attic and, transformed with pliers, into unique card holders.

Leave them in their natural state, polish them up or add a little bling!

No matter your personal choice, this is one idea with a lot of bang for its buck!

Trash the Dress!

"Trash the Dress" is pure bridal fun!

Taken after the Wedding, pictures are shot is locations that may have caused damage to the dress on the wedding day.

Generally the intention is to take photo shots with high fashion style in mind, but every now and then the bride goes wild and literally 'trashes' her dress.

MarryMeWeddings

Speak with your photographer, some will include this as an add-on to their wedding packages.

Have fun!!

This candy shish-kebab is a cost effective and unique way to create a little fun on your wedding day.

Using bulk food (or dollar store candy), a shish-kebab stick, inexpensive vases and a little tissue wrap, you'll be in business.

Wonderful take home treats, dessert add-ons, or just munchies to snack on during the reception!

Something Old, Something New......

Everyone is familiar with the Bride's good luck poem...

Something old something new
Something borrowed something blue......

But do you know that there is another line to this now famous quote?

The whole poem is...

Something old something new
Something borrowed something blue
"And a silver sixpence in her shoe"

This line has been left off the poem since the 60's when finding a 'silver' sixpence became difficult.

For awhile the line was adjusted to read "And a penny in her shoe", however, that too has gone by the wayside.

But we love tradition, and we love tradition done in new and fun ways!

Bring back the silver sixpence!!

We have obtained a healthy quantity of sixpence and would love to help you cleverly and creatively add it to your shoe.

Location, Location, Location Part 2

Our Niagara Falls, Ontario site tour included some of the prettiest wedding spots in the region.
Included in that package is the Butterfly Conservatory/ School of Horticulture.

For years the School of Horticulture has been a prime location for Wedding Photos and for good reason.  With their beautiful arbours, and breathtaking florals, wedding pictures will be memorable! But the School also offers beautiful outdoor wedding/ ceremony options!

The Butterfly Conservatory offers a unique and lovely indoor wedding ceremony location for small and personal weddings. With waterfalls in the background and butterflies floating by, the romance factor is a 'perfect' 10!

For a larger wedding, the Conservatory offers an outdoor upper terrace, and plenty of grassy space to host your 'perfect' wedding.

Our last feature, but certainly not least, is the gorgeous Floral Showcase.  With both indoor and outdoor options for your ceremony and reception, this is a lovely choice.  Among other great features, the Showcase changes it's look with the seasons.

Decor is a snap at both of these locations,  it's already done for you!

Location, Location, Location - Part 1

When planning your "Perfect" day, it's essential to find the ceremony/reception site that best suites your needs, as well as your theme and personality.

Recently we had the pleasure of being toured through some of Niagara Falls, Ontario's offerings. With many thanks to Sue and Tamara of The Niagara Parks Commision, we are able to share these amazing locations with you.

Elements Restaurant offers amazing views - you are literally looking straight at the Falls - unique decor and a large space for your larger wedding.  Although this is a great choice at any time of the year, we love the idea of a winter wedding in this location! With the Festival of Lights in full swing, and the ice crystals forming on the trees outside the windows, your day is guaranteed to be magical.

Come to Queenston Heights and meet the amazing Chef Elbert. Once private chef to Michael Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta Jones, you will love his charm and willingness to give you the food of your dreams. Queenston Heights boasts both indoor and outdoor options and plenty of space for your guests to spread out and enjoy themselves. One of our personal favourites! The scenery is stunning and the parking is plentiful. Pin It Now!

Very Unique Bouquet Idea!

Now here's an idea that is very definetly one-of-a-kind.  What girl doesn't need a little chocolate in her life?  Chocolate is the one little gem of a treat that few of us can resist. This easy, do it yourself ,bouquet is unique, fun and over the top!

Made with Ferrero Rocher chocolate, these stems are sure to put a smile on your (and your guests) face.

Easily adapted to your colour scheme, the chocolates can become the 'centre' of your flower.  And, of course, a little feathery bling adds whimsy to the design.

Get the girls together for a night of fun and creativity, you'll be amazed at how easily you can create your own Perfect-ly, one of a kind, masterpiece!

Bringing it back!!

Some of the best 'new' ideas, are actually old ideas.  The "Glamelia" Bouquet is one of those old ideas being reborn.  Dating from the 40's and 50's the Glamelia is seeing a comeback thanks to Bridal magazines and movie stars, specifically Katherine Heigl. (www.kheigl.com/gallery)

The Glamelia, usually  made with rose petals, is created using individual petals stitched together to form a singular bloom.

They can be glammed up with feathers, beads etc.

Due to the enormous amount of time and the quantity of flowers you must use to create one - this particular style of bouquet is not necessarily the most affordable.

However, it might be worth it to cut a little money from something else to afford one of these unique beauties!

Unique Bouquets

Over the course of our next few blogs, we want to share with you our visions for unique and creative Bridal Bouquets.  We are very sentimental girls, and we love anything that makes us go  "Awww" .  Brooch Bouquets do exactly that.  Not only are they beautiful, but they are unique. Each one is an original one of a kind masterpiece creation tailored to each and every Bride.

Brooch bouquets are becoming more and more popular as Brides, like you, strive for unique touches at their wedding.

Amazing idea: have your Bridal Shower Hostess invite all your guests to bring a brooch to the shower for you to use in your bouquet.

What a beautiful way to honour the women at your wedding, carrying a little piece of each of their history with you as you walk down the aisle.

Brooch bouquets are quite capitivating. Imagine the discussion at the tables as your guest share how they provided the brooches that made up your bouquet.

Not only will your bouquet be unique, but it will also be the "something borrowed and something old" that you're looking for.

To put your guests minds at ease, you can return their brooches after your wedding, with their thank you note.

Weddings are very sentimental occasions, what a wonderful way to include your guests in your Perfect Day!

Smash Hit Wedding Bouquet!!

Leave it to the ever inventive "Pop & Lollys" in Niagara Falls, Ontario to create a one of a kind Bridal Bouquet.

It's always our goal to make every Bride's day unique and truly their own. These wonderful bouquets certainly make their mark!

                    http://www.niagaraparks.com/shopping/table-rock-canadian-treasures.html
How great would it be to have your flower girl (s) walking down the aisle handing out mini lollypops to your guests instead of throwing petals?  To have lollypop boutonniers on your groomsmen?  Let's not forget Moms and Grandmothers... with a wonderful and fun wrist corsage!

Take your 'candy' theme to the next level and add a bucket of lolly's as your table centrepiece. Makes a fun a lively centerpiece as well as a great take home favour for your guests.
